Smelson's C19 News for the Weekend of April 4th 2020

-

Once again, I watch it so you don’t have to. Updates for 4/4/2020-4/5/2020

News throughout the day summarized with a little salt added and capped off with the White House address.

Over the weekend there were two press conferences with the Coronavirus Task Force.

Neither provided any news of substance.

Trump talks about who has been grateful and nice, and the fact that those people are doing a good job, as well as people who are always complaining and not doing a good job. There are many numbers being thrown about regarding PPE. Yes, millions are big numbers. What you’re not getting while those numbers are being flaunted is the numbers that are requested or needed. They’re all out of context. Keep that in mind.

Trump, for some reason, is pushing drugs that haven’t been found to be efficacious by the FDA yet for C19 treatment. There is anecdotal evidence, but Fauci keeps saying it’s not clear whether the treatment is actually going to work and it’s dangerous to take unless we’re sure. It’s ok to take if you’re going to die otherwise. We get it. I’m going to stick with Fauci.

Reporters are doing their best to hold the administration accountable. Some reporters are picking at scabs when they don’t need to. That isn’t important right this minute. What is important is the following: What is today’s status? What do we expect tomorrow? What are we doing to get there?

Some Governors are showing what it takes to handle this in a thoughtful, numbers-driven, scientific manner. Some aren’t.

More evidence has come out that the administration had been warned as early as January 3rd. You can read the details of that here if you’d like.

The general in charge of FEMA operations keeps calling Dr. Birx Dr. Brix. I would hope they could get to know each other a little better.

More people have died in NY and NJ by Friday than died during 9/11.

Some churches continue to hold services in-person. You can read about some of the reasons behind that here. Once again, it looks like Christians and Jews are trying to out-do radicalized Muslims when it comes to racking up body counts. I saw video of Mecca. It’s empty. Strangely enough, there are 11 states with stay-at-home orders that are allowing church services to continue and 6 of the 11 have Democrat governors.

Once again, thank you for reading. Do not take anything written here as gospel and certainly don’t make any financial decisions based from the information provided. Stay as tuned-in as you can. Support your local businesses as much as you can. Lastly, #staythefuckhome
